Lego Just Revealed Its Biggest Set Yet And It Costs $800
Lego has unveiled its largest set by piece count: set 21065 Sagrada Família, an $800 Lego Architecture model containing 12,060 pieces. The kit recreates Antoni Gaudí’s Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família, one of the largest Catholic churches in the world — a building that remains unfinished despite construction beginning in 1882.
Announced on June 4 and launching on November 1, the Sagrada Família includes 18 massive towers and a fully detailed interior. When completed it measures 24 inches tall and 18 inches wide, and it surpasses the previous record holder, the World Map set, which contains 11,695 pieces.
The set is available for pre-order starting today and carries regional prices of US$799.99; AU$1,299.99; £649.99; €749.99; CAD$1,099.99; and SGD$1,069.90.
The article notes the set is expensive and the writer said they wouldn’t be inclined to spend that much on a model of a church, adding that their next major Lego purchase will be the Star Trek Enterprise D.
