Law & Order and SVU Return Oct. 8, 2026 on NBC

Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will return on October 8, 2026, with new seasons of both procedurals.

Season 28 of SVU is set for Thursdays at 9/8c, followed by Season 26 of Law & Order at 10/9c. Both series will be available to stream the next day on Peacock, and the lineup flips from prior seasons with SVU now airing before Law & Order.

Peacock also carries past episodes of Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Organized Crime and Law & Order: Criminal Intent for viewers who want to catch up.

The milestone season introduced 27th Precinct newcomer Detective Theo Walker, played by David Ajala. Ajala said it has been thrilling to join the franchise, noting that filming in New York often draws recognition and that being part of something so well‑loved feels very special.
