As of Thursday, June 25, Apple raised prices on the MacBook Neo by $100 at its online store. Amazon is still selling the base model for $589.99 and a version with extra storage and Touch ID for $689.99 while supplies last.

The colorful starter laptop launched in March with a $599 starting price, and Amazon had undercut that by listing the base Neo at $589.99; the upgraded model carries a $699.99 list price and has been available for $689.99 at Amazon.

Apple CEO Tim Cook warned of price increases tied to a global memory shortage—dubbed "RAMageddon"—as AI demand drives up component costs. Manufacturers have been raising tech prices across 2026, and Apple has begun increasing prices on MacBooks, Macs, and iPads; price increases on iPhones could follow.

It will take time for the new Apple prices to appear at retailers, so this is likely the last chance to buy the Neo at its original launch price. If you want it at that price, order from Amazon while supplies last.
