Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams returned to full training with Spain at the team’s base camp in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Thursday, providing a significant fitness boost ahead of their World Cup opener against Cape Verde. The pair, along with Victor Munoz, missed Spain’s final warm-up friendly against Peru on Monday while undergoing intensive rehabilitation at the training base.

There was particular concern over Yamal after an injured left hamstring kept him out of competitive action since April 22, prompting fears he might miss the group stages. Spain coach said last week he expects Yamal to be "ready to play" in the opening game, though involvement could be limited to "just a few minutes".

Team-mates greeted the return with high spirits, running the gauntlet at the start of Thursday’s session and sharing the moment with goalkeeper Unai Simon on his birthday.
