At the Annecy International Animation Festival, DC Animation and DC Studios announced a new animated series titled Krypto, which is now in development. The show comes from C.H. Greenblatt, best known for Cartoon Network's Chowder, HBO Max's Jellystone!, and Nickelodeon's Harvey Beaks.

The series' synopsis reads: "When he's not hanging out with Superman or Supergirl, Krypto tags along with a gang of misfit criminal wannabes who live down the block, and they soon discover he's a ball of destructive, lovable energy worse than any of them! As he follows them into misadventures and poorly laid plans, Krypto's pure nature slowly ends up redeeming them, whether they want it or not." Krypto was a standout in Superman (Jul.

2025), depicted through CGI and based on James Gunn's rescue dog Ozu, and the film earned almost $620 million at the box office. He is also set to be a major player in the upcoming Supergirl movie, where Milly Alcock's heroine seeks revenge after Krypto is gravely injured.
