KPop Demon Hunters breaks Netflix global top 10 record
KPop Demon Hunters has spent 52 consecutive weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10, surpassing Extraordinary Attorney Woo’s 20-week run. Since its June 20, 2025 release the film has become Netflix’s most-watched title ever with over 500 million views, after Sony sold it off when the movie was deemed too “niche” for a theatrical release.
Netflix will bring KPop Demon Hunters back to cinemas worldwide to celebrate its one-year anniversary. It previously topped the domestic box office during a limited sing-along release last August, and while the movie recently fell off Netflix’s top 10 in the U.S., it held on for 46 consecutive weeks.
There are many reasons why KPop Demon Hunters caught fire, among them its chart-topping score, creative animation from the studio behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and its colorful cast of characters.
