Vincent Kompany's pursuit yields breakthrough in €65m deal for Nathaniel Brown
Bayern Munich look set to complete a major summer signing after reaching a deal in principle with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Germany defender Nathaniel Brown, a player strongly requested by head coach Vincent Kompany. The two Bundesliga clubs have agreed on a package worth up to €65m, including performance-related add-ons, although the structure of the payment remains the only sticking point.
Bayern prefer to heavily incentivise the final fee with bonuses, while Frankfurt are holding out for a higher guaranteed fixed amount. Kompany has been a driving force behind the pursuit, viewing Brown as a versatile option who can play at full-back or further forward down the left flank.
Because Brown is in the United States on international duty, plans are being made for his medical to take place there and for medical data to be exchanged digitally so the move can be completed quickly.
