Kobbie Mainoo wows England team-mates with two-touch skill
Kobbie Mainoo continues to establish himself as one of the most technically gifted players in the England setup, leaving team-mates in awe during training as the squad prepares for World Cup action in the United States.
At the Three Lions’ base camp in Florida, his close control and ability to manipulate the ball under pressure have become a frequent talking point. Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento singled out the 21-year-old as the standout performer in daily drills.
“One thing that's like, seeing Kobbie play two-touch. He's so good at two-touch. He'd be passing it or flicking it with his ankle and that,” Livramento explained. Goalkeeper James Trafford said he most envied Anthony Gordon's or Marcus Rashford's pace, while Livramento added: “I'll say Eberechi Eze’s passing. Yeah. I'll take Ebs' passing.”
The atmosphere in Florida remained light-hearted away from the on-field talk. Livramento joked: “I'd probably be in sales.” Trafford replied: “I'd be a farmer.”
