Klopp represents the soft-drink manufacturer at RB Leipzig and Salzburg, as well as at clubs in Brazil, the USA and Japan, and remains under contract until 2029. Still, speculation about an early departure—or even a return to management—has been growing, with Real Madrid frequently linked and defeated presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme promising supporters he would pursue Klopp if elected.

The coach has repeatedly said he has no immediate plans to return to the touchline. Rumours of internal disagreements surfaced as recently as March, when L'Equipe named several points of contention between the company and the former successful manager of BVB and Liverpool FC.

One issue was the appointment of Leipzig coach Ole Werner, who risked missing out on Champions League qualification again at the time. Friction also showed up at Paris FC, where Red Bull holds more than a 10% stake.
