Kimberly Van Der Beek honors late husband on first Father's Day
Kimberly Van Der Beek posted a tribute on Instagram on the first Father’s Day since her husband’s death, sharing a carousel of photos of James Van Der Beek with their six children. She wrote, "Missing you so much and thinking of how magnificent you were in every single way today.
And somehow, from the other side? You continue to parent. You’re a marvel." Several friends left messages of support in the comments. Krysten Ritter wrote, "The best of the best. Happy Father’s Day, James," and Nikki Reed added, "The best of the best forever. We love you so much James.
Wrapping all of your little people in the warmest hugs today, and always." His Dawson’s Creek co-star Mary-Margaret Humes also paid tribute over the weekend. James Van Der Beek died on Feb. 11 after battling colorectal cancer. He was 48. The actor had been treated for stage 3 cancer since August 2023 and disclosed the diagnosis publicly after learning a tabloid planned to report it.
