Kefka is the ultimate troll: Final Fantasy 14's UMAD Ultimate vexes top raiders

The latest 7.51 patch brings a Kefka‑themed Ultimate raid — Dancing Mad Ultimate — to Final Fantasy 14. The mad mage first tormented players during Stormblood's Sigmascape line and originally appears in Final Fantasy 6; he previously returned in patch 4.2 (2018) with chaotic mechanics and confusing puzzles.

Top raiding groups worldwide are racing the encounter, with FFLogs currently placing Chinese static NO CCHH in the lead as leaderboards continue to shift. Many teams hit a wall at the end of phase two when Kefka tricks them into believing the fight is over: he "dies" in his godlike form, a short cutscene reads "Complete" instead of the usual "Duty Complete," and a massive chest spawns by the exit only to vanish when opened, forcing parties to leave and restart.
