Karim Adeyemi breaks silence over 'mystery box' fine

Karim Adeyemi has been hit with a fine of almost half a million euros over the so-called 'mystery box' affair. The Dortmund forward has now broken his silence in episode two of the Amazon Prime documentary "Loredana & Karim – Love & Drama", presenting his version of events and describing a bizarre misunderstanding triggered by a fateful online order.

In the film Loredana recalls that Adeyemi was on holiday and came with her to the DSDS filming, and that she rang Ben and asked him to take the parcels. Ben immediately ran into police scrutiny at the airport. Unknown to the player's friend, the hold contained a balaclava, a switchblade, brass knuckles and assorted smaller items.

Ben says: "I took the parcels to the airport just as they were. I was standing in front of the police officer and I saw: a balaclava, a switchblade, brass knuckles and a few other bits and bobs.
