Kagurabachi manga to take short hiatus after anime announcement
Kagurabachi, one of Shonen Jump's new-generation hits, will pause publication this summer. The series' official account on X announced the manga will be on hiatus from June 29 until an unspecified date in August, following the recent reveal that an anime adaptation is scheduled for 2027.
No specific reason was given, but the post said the break is intended to "ensure that the work will be presented regularly in the future." The manga has previously run unfinished chapters in Shonen Jump, suggesting the author, 25-year-old Takeru Hokazono, was struggling with deadlines.
Weekly serialization is notoriously demanding; creators who can afford it, such as One Piece's Eiichiro Oda, take frequent breaks. High-profile cases — including Tite Kubo speaking about his health and Yoshihiro Togashi's back issues — have highlighted the toll that schedule can take.
