Jurgen Klopp targets Rangers boss Danny Rohl for Red Bull Salzburg role
Jurgen Klopp, head of global soccer at Red Bull, has set his sights on Rangers manager Danny Rohl to lead Red Bull Salzburg after Daniel Beichler's departure, German publication Bild says. Klopp has been impressed by Rohl's job at Ibrox and a formal approach from Salzburg could be on the horizon.
Rohl moved to Rangers in October 2025 and is under contract until 2028. He has been credited with stabilising a club that was struggling for consistency, though a late-season injury crisis hampered their push for the Scottish Premiership title. Salzburg finished third after Beichler, who took over from Thomas Letsch in February, failed to spark a sustainable turnaround; a 3-1 defeat to Hartberg left them outside the Champions League and at their lowest league position since the start of the Red Bull era.
Klopp values Rohl's clear footballing philosophy and his record of developing young talent — qualities considered essential for Salzburg's role as a development hub.
