'Jurassic Park' Meets 'Tombstone' In New Dino Western

The team behind Primitive War is developing Dinosaurs of the Wild West, a sci‑fi western that places dinosaurs in a frontier setting. Primitive War blended Jurassic Park‑style dinosaur terror with an Apocalypse Now‑like Vietnam War backdrop and became a streaming cult hit, helped by performances from Tricia Helfer, Jeremy Piven and Ryan Kwanten.

Director Luke Sparke co‑wrote the film and served as an executive producer, editor and production designer. Dinosaurs of the Wild West is not a direct sequel or prequel but embraces the same creature‑driven thrills. Inspired by creator Shaun Keenan’s artwork and expanded into an original cinematic universe by Luke Sparke, the project pairs western frontier mythology with a world where dinosaurs and humans have coexisted for generations.
