John Wick Meets Punisher: Son of the Soil Trailer

A low-budget action thriller described as the answer to both John Wick and The Punisher has unveiled an explosive new trailer as its digital streaming release nears. Directed by Chee Keong Cheung, Son of the Soil stars Razaaq Adoti as a haunted Nigerian ex-commando who returns home to seek revenge and redemption after his sister is murdered, taking on a murderous drug network tearing his community apart.

The UK–Nigeria collaboration also features Patience Ozokwo, Ireti Doyle, Taye Arimoro, Sunshine Rosman, Damilola Ogunsi, Emeka Golden, Sharon Rotimi and newcomer Ijelu Folajimi. The film has won three Black Star International Film Festival awards for Best Film, Director, and International Showcase, and was selected for the 34th Pan-African Film Festival.

Following a limited theatrical run, Son of the Soil will be available to stream on digital platforms in the United States on July 14 and in the United Kingdom on July 13, and is already on Netflix in some territories, including Africa.
