John Wick Icon's 97-Minute Survival Thriller Is Resurrected on Free Streaming

After nearly killing John Wick in 2019's John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, martial arts and action movie icon Mark Dacascos stepped away from straight action to star in a darker survival thriller the same year. Directed by Wych Kaosayananda, The Driver (also known as Dead Driver) reteams Dacascos with bleak, violent set pieces.

The 97-minute film follows The Driver, a former hitman who lives in a makeshift town with his family and a group of survivors during a zombie apocalypse. When the town is overrun, he and his daughter must escape and live on the road, moving across the post-apocalyptic landscape in the vehicle the title implies.

The Driver will stream for free on the ad-supported platform Tubi beginning Jul. 1, and, like most movies on Tubi, is expected to remain there for one month before leaving at the start of August 2026. Reception has been poor: the film holds an 8% user score on Rotten Tomatoes from two reviews and a 3.6/10 rating on IMDb from over 1,000 reviews.
