Jensen Huang says now is an 'incredible time' to be a software company
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said it is an "incredible time" to be a software company and sought to dispel fears of a "Saaspocalypse" during a keynote at Computex in Taiwan. He pushed back on the idea that agentic AI will put software firms out of business, saying: "A lot of people have said, 'Jensen, AI is coming.
Agentic AI is coming. Therefore, all of the software companies are going to go out of business.' I said it's exactly the opposite." Agentic AI, he added, refers to systems that can accomplish tasks with minimal human intervention, and because many agents will be doing work they will use "more tools than ever." "This is actually an incredible time to be a software company, but the software has to be presented to the agent in a way that the agent can use it," he said.
Huang's remarks offer an optimistic angle on concerns that AI could disrupt companies such as Salesforce and Workday.
