Jenna Ortega Leads First Look at Taika Waititi's Klara and the Sun

Taika Waititi is back in the director's chair for what he calls his "most dramatic work" yet. Klara and the Sun stars Jenna Ortega as an advanced, solar-powered android hired by a mother to accompany her sick teenage daughter in a dystopian future.

After a trailer debuted at CinemaCon earlier this year, the first images have been released online. Vanity Fair shared a first look that shows Ortega in the title role alongside Amy Adams as Chrissie and Mia Tharia as Josie.

The film is adapted from the 2021 novel of the same name, with Dahvi Waller credited as writer and David Heyman listed as a producer.

Klara and the Sun is set to open in theaters on October 23, 2026.
