Jason Segel Offers Positive Update on Forgetting Sarah Marshall Sequel
Forgetting Sarah Marshall proved Jason Segel was a capable leading man, helping him break out of his ensemble role on How I Met Your Mother. Segel wrote the comedy, which he also starred in alongside a talented cast that included Kristen Bell, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, and Mila Kunis.
The film made bold choices — Segel appeared completely nude in the opening scene and the finale involved a Dracula puppet musical — and those choices helped make the film a hit, grossing $105.8 million worldwide on a $30 million budget with Rotten Tomatoes scores of 84% (critics) and 76% (audiences).
Since the 2008 debut Segel has teased a sequel. Speaking with The Direct at the Newport Beach TV Fest, he discussed his last live performance of Dracula's Lament, which he performed in 2023, and whether audiences might see a full rock opera. "We have been talking about it, I will tell [you].
