Jason Momoa, who debuts as Lobo in Supergirl, says he will only make a solo Lobo movie if the studio agrees to an R rating. "I do not have any interest in making a Lobo PG-13 movie," he told Collider, adding that he might appear in other films but won’t do a standalone outing unless it’s rated R.

Directed by Craig Gillespie, Supergirl is the second movie in James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe after Superman and follows Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor‑El on a cosmic revenge mission, with Lobo crossing her path. Momoa says he has raised the idea with Gunn and DC co‑chief Peter Safran and that the studio isn’t ruling it out, noting a standalone would likely depend on audiences embracing the character first—much as Aquaman was built across several films.

Lobo has a history of ultraviolent pitches, including an iteration that fell apart and a time when Michael Bay was lined up to direct, and the character predates and helped inspire Deadpool.
