Janet Jackson honored Michael Jackson with her BET Awards 2026 outfit

Janet Jackson wore a layered black-and-white look on the BET Awards 2026 red carpet, topping the outfit with a vintage 2Pac T-shirt as a nod to her co-star from the 1993 film "Poetic Justice." She added stacks of silver bracelets, a grommeted belt and a jaunty fedora adorned with feathers and a veil — the same signature accessory her brother Michael popularized.

In his 1991 music video for "Black Or White," Michael wore a similar ensemble: a layered white tee and an unbuttoned black shirt paired with trousers and a fedora. He was famously fond of hats, and the fedora became synonymous with his personal style and stage presence.

Janet was on hand at the ceremony to present Teyana Taylor with the Icon of the Year award. Also in attendance were Michael’s nephew Jaafar Jackson, who portrayed the King of Pop in this year’s "Michael" biopic, and Nia Long, who played family matriarch Katherine Jackson in Antoine Fuqua’s film.
