James Handy, 81, killed in Los Angeles stabbing; suspect is girlfriend's son
James Handy, a character actor best known for roles in Top Gun: Maverick and Jumanji, was killed Wednesday in a stabbing in Los Angeles. He was 81.
The Los Angeles Police Department said officers responded Wednesday morning to the 19200 block of Erwin Street in Tarzana after a caller said, "I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin." They found Handy unconscious in the front yard of a home, suffering from stab wounds; he was rushed to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
The LAPD identified the suspect as Michael Gledhill, 44, the son of Handy's girlfriend. Gledhill allegedly waved down officers and told them he was the one they were looking for.
