James Gunn reveals Lex Luthor's Warsuit in Man of Tomorrow

James Gunn has shared the first official photo from Man of Tomorrow: Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor in a comics-accurate purple and green Warsuit, standing in what looks like a sandy void. Gunn labelled the image a “fit check,” suggesting it’s a candid from a costume fitting rather than a frame from the finished film.

The practical build looks impressively screen-accurate and will seemingly be worn by Hoult in the movie — let’s hope it’s easy to get out of for toilet breaks. Gunn first announced Man of Tomorrow in September 2025 with comic-artist illustrations of Lex’s Warsuit alongside David Corenswet’s Superman, so the suit’s inclusion was expected but the extent of a practical build was not clear until now.

The Warsuit lets Lex go toe-to-toe with Superman, though the pair are set to form an enemies-to-friends alliance to face a larger Brainiac-shaped threat.
