It’s Time For Sony To Show Its Cards

Today’s Summer Game Fest–adjacent PlayStation State of Play is the longest Sony showcase in a bit and gives the console maker a chance to set the stage for the final years of the PS5.

A deep dive into September’s Wolverine game from Insomniac is promised. All eyes are on updates from Sony’s other first-party studios and what they have been working on.

Rumors are already swirling about a reveal for the worst-kept secret at Santa Monica Studios, reportedly a new God of War spin-off featuring Freya. Expect big announcements from third-party partners as well, and questions remain over whether Sony will reveal Final Fantasy VII Remake part three or if that will wait for Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest later in the week, as happened in 2022.
