A pending merger between Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount is set to combine HBO Max and Paramount+ into a single streaming service, creating a catalog that would exceed 200 million subscribers worldwide. The combined platform would unite HBO’s prestige slate and Discovery’s content hubs with Paramount+ originals; many of the most-streamed series on Paramount+ have come from Taylor Sheridan.

Sheridan is expected to move to NBCUniversal in 2029 after his Paramount contract concludes at the end of 2028. The deal, valued at over $1 billion, grants him exclusive rights to develop movies, television and other streaming content for NBCUniversal.

Despite that future shift, Sheridan’s existing catalog will remain with the merged HBO Max/Paramount platform. Ongoing series such as Dutton Ranch, Yellowstone and Tulsa King are set to stay on the new service, while any new Sheridan TV projects will stream on Peacock and his films will be distributed by Universal.
