Into the Wind blends Kiki's Delivery Service with Porco Rosso
Into the Wind debuted during The PC Gaming Show and channels Studio Ghibli films, combining Kiki's Delivery Service's delivery business with Porco Rosso's flying and dogfighting. It also borrows a Death Stranding-like box-balancing mechanic and features a sentient motorbike that transforms into an airplane.
You play as a young man taking over his uncle's delivery business after the uncle disappeared. Investigate his whereabouts while managing deliveries, fending off pirates, and avoiding cows on the road. Ermes, the sentient vehicle, is designed "to feel both physical and arcadey." The game's Steam description continues: "Cargo has weight, and fuel matters.
Roads, shortcuts, weather, wind, and bad landings are all part of the journey." Players can customize Ermes' appearance, the player character, and their home. There is no release window yet; Into the Wind will enter Steam Early Access when it launches. Developer Bloom & Gloom Games, a team of 10, expects the early access period to last at least a year.
