Interview with the Vampire Season 2 Recap Before The Vampire Lestat

After slitting Lestat's throat at the end of Season 1, Louis and Claudia flee New Orleans for postwar Paris, seeking other vampires and a community. Their search leads them to the Théâtre des Vampires, a coven run by Armand and founded by Lestat, where undying actors hide in plain sight and perform grisly plays.

Armand recognizes Louis and Claudia's secret, admonishes them to follow the Five Great Laws, and watches as Claudia falls in love with a human dressmaker, Madeleine; at Madeleine's request, Louis turns her into Claudia's immortal companion. The Théâtre kidnaps Claudia, Madeleine, and Louis and stages a sham trial.

Lestat appears as a witness, and the trial ends with Claudia and Madeleine exposed to sunlight and burned to ash while Louis is left for dead. Louis escapes, massacres the coven except for Armand and a lone survivor, and confronts Lestat in the tower of Magnus, where Lestat's past and his drinking of Akasha's blood leave him nearly untouchable.
