Intel and Nvidia have announced plans to combine Nvidia graphics chiplets with Intel CPUs, and a new leak now pins a launch window. Tech journalist Erdi Özüağ places the target in the first quarter of 2028 and suggests CES 2028 could serve as the unveiling event.

An early-2028 release would likely align these chips with Nvidia's Rubin architecture. Nvidia has said a Rubin-based version of its RTX Spark CPU‑GPU superchip will arrive in 2028, and rumours point to Rubin desktop GPUs—possibly an RTX 60 Series—appearing in late 2027 or early 2028.

That timing could make 2028 a pivotal year for APUs, the combined CPU‑and‑GPU chips used in handhelds such as the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally. Alongside Nvidia's second‑gen RTX Spark, AMD may offer APUs codenamed Grimlock Point and Grimlock Halo in 2028, while its next generation—Medusa Point and Medusa Halo—is expected later this year or in 2027.
