Insomniac's hairy Wolverine prompts debate over body hair

PlayStation's State of Play opened with a 10-minute deep dive into Marvel's Wolverine, which launches Sept. 15. The footage showed the gruff anti-hero fighting alongside Jean Grey to rescue young mutants captured on the orders of Bolivar Trask, and made clear Insomniac’s investment in its cutting-edge "blood tech." Many viewers zeroed in on the game's body hair rendering, celebrating the hairy depiction on social media.

"I'm so GLAD Wolverine is this HAIRY AHHH," wrote X user Deaf David, while Dogmandi2025 added, "A lot of artists don't draw body hair on their characters. Much appreciated, Insomniac." Some commenters flagged an odd omission: despite a luxuriant pelt, Logan appeared to lack armpit hair.
