Inside the Big Revamp of Disney’s Millennium Falcon Ride
Millennium Falcon—Smugglers Run is a motion simulator built like an elaborate cockpit arcade game. Launched in 2019 on Nvidia-backed technology and running in Unreal Engine 4, the attraction places six players inside a detailed Falcon set next to a 114-foot replica of the ship.
Teams split into two pilots, two gunners and two engineers; everyone earns individual scores that combine into a team result stored in the Play Disney app. For years the ride ran a single mission—smuggling coaxium for Hondo Ohnaka alongside the Resistance—while the engineer role received only small tweaks.
That changed on May 22, 2026, when a new mission launched featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu. The update adds three branching paths to Coruscant, Bespin and Endor; one engineer now picks the route and even gets a bit of personal screen time with Grogu as the Falcon follows one of three hyperspaced Imperial targets.
