Ikumi Nakamura's Yokai-Hunting Game Resurfaces With Gameplay Reveal

Ikumi Nakamura returned to PlayStation’s June State of Play with a slick trailer for Kemuri, her new demon-hunting action game from studio Unseen Inc. She was last seen promoting Kemuri at the 2023 Game Awards.

Kemuri is set in a city where the human and demon worlds collide. A group of yokai hunters keeps the city safe by tracking yokai, possessing them and taking on their powers to hunt larger threats.

Players choose from three hunting styles—hunter, bow and shaman—each offering distinct combat abilities, and can team up in threes for online multiplayer.

The trailer highlights a feature that lets characters embody the yokai they possess, including matching those spirits’ looks to the characters’ clothes. The game leans into Asian streetwear aesthetics, and no release date has been announced.
