I went on a girls trip with my mom, it forced me to relax & slow down
I've always been a hustler, obsessively curating itineraries and packing my schedule. This past Mother's Day I tried something different: I flew to Grenada with my mom with no spreadsheet, no color-coded plans, just flights, a hotel, and an intention to show up and figure it out.
We stayed at The Beach House at Silver Sands, a small property of 28 rooms on Portici Beach. The room had wide windows and a private canopied terrace, and the hotel offered an infinity pool, a spa at the sister property Silversands Grand Anse, kayaks, and beach yoga.
The options existed without pressure to use any of them. The first day I kept reaching for my phone and even got invited to a themed party on the island, but my mom told me to stop, and I did—skipping the party. By day two we settled into a simple rhythm: eat when hungry, sit on the beach, and occasionally venture out, like a lunch at Chez Louis in Port Louis Marina.
