I ran 45 Steam Next Fest idle demos at once and kept 11

Steam Next Fest has ballooned into a sprawling showcase, and sifting through thousands of demos for a second-screen idler can be overwhelming. What once felt like a curated selection now reads like the world's busiest Costco, with every aisle offering a dozen free samples—some delightful, some instant regrets.

Rather than read dozens of descriptions, I downloaded 45 idle-game demos and launched as many as would fit on my second screen, then closed the ones that didn't keep my attention for more than a few seconds. The approach took a couple of rounds but worked: my PC handled the cacophony of lo-fi beats, meowing cats and farm noises, and I narrowed the batch down to 11 desktop distractions.
