Hulu renews The Testaments for season 2
The Testaments, developed by Bruce Miller and based on Margaret Atwood’s novel, wrapped its first season in late May and was renewed for a second season before the finale aired. Produced by MGM Television and 20th Television, the series has become one of 2026’s most talked-about dystopian dramas on Hulu.
The show follows Agnes (Chase Infiniti), the biological daughter of June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss), who has never known life beyond Gilead’s oppressive, patriarchal walls. When the rebellious Mayday spy Daisy (Lucy Halliday) arrives at Aunt Lydia’s (Ann Dowd) elite school for future wives — the Plum Girls — Agnes is forced to confront the true horrors of Gilead’s society.
Outside the renewal, a release date has not been announced, though fans have speculated a second season could arrive as soon as 2027.
