Hulk Hogan-themed NYC bar revived after his son steps in

Rich Rosen, a longtime New York nightlife veteran, invested $7 million in Slam, a three-story sports bar planned directly across from Madison Square Garden. He celebrated when Hulk Hogan agreed to partner on the project, which was intended to honor the wrestler’s ties to the arena.

Rosen says he won Hogan’s support after waiting five hours at an autograph signing and presenting an 8-by-11 glossy photo of the Garden with the proposed storefront. The ambitious launch was set to be a major addition to the neighborhood. Those plans faltered when Hogan died of a heart attack that July at 71, leaving the future of the bar uncertain.
