How to unlock all Task Bar Hero pets

Task Bar Hero pets are unlockable companions that grant permanent perks to your party. You can only equip one pet at a time, but you benefit from the bonuses of every pet you have unlocked. To get five of the eight pets you must kill 5,000 of a specified enemy for each one; those enemies spawn in only a few stages and can be missed, so it’s usually fastest to use the Portal to replay a level repeatedly.

Note that replaying only counts when the game is running. Bat: Kill 5,000 Bats, reliably found in Stages 7, 8 and 9 of Act 1. Bonuses: 10% increased Common Chest Drop Chance Multiplier and 15% increased XP gain. Watcher: Kill 5,000 Giant Flies, which only seem to spawn in Stages 4 and 5 of Act 2.

Bonus: 15% increased Gold per kill. Burning Skeleton: Kill 5,000 Fire Spirits, which seem to only spawn in Stages 8 and 9 of Act 2. Bonus: 10% increased Stage Chest Drop Chance Multiplier. Blue Golem: Kill 5,000 Hell Golems, found only in Stage 6 of Act 3 (the Burning Ravine).
