Dave the Diver: In the Jungle adds plenty of new activities — turn-based jungle combat against spiders and snakes and hunting game birds with a rifle among them — but fishing is a standout. After catching hundreds of fish in other parts of the game, Dave finally gets to use a traditional fishing rod to catch species found only in jungle ponds.

To obtain the rod, do a favor for Basu, who lives east of Dave's cabin on the edge of the lake. He’s usually outside his house or fishing off his dock; ask him about his favorite things and he’ll request a Piraiba Catfish. He won’t say it outright, but delivering that fish is the reward trigger for the rod.

Find the Piraiba Catfish by diving in the lake and swimming to the right at depths between 35–75 meters, typically around the middle of the lake. It’s dark gray with a white underbelly, about three times Dave’s size, and has long whiskers.
