How to get Fine Wood in Witchspire
Fine Wood is required to make your first flying broom and many other items, and the simplest way to get it is by cutting down the right trees. The larger trees with thicker trunks, which appear occasionally around the map, are the ones that drop Fine Wood.
To harvest these trees you'll need a Logging Sickle; the process is the same as chopping any other tree, though the bigger oak trees take a few more attacks to break down and will drop a larger quantity of Fine Wood when felled.
If you want an easy place to start, there's a big tree very near the game's starting point that's marked on the map. If you haven't crafted a Logging Sickle yet, you can make one at the Workbench—you'll need Wood x1, Stone x5 and Spirit Dust x5.
Later upgrades let you get the Spirit Logging Sickle to speed up lumberjack tasks. The broom is likely the first thing you'll use Fine Wood for, and once you can fly it becomes much easier to spot large trees from above.
