Karen Carney is England’s fourth most-capped football player, having competed at four World Cups, four European Championships and the London Olympics before retiring in 2019. She led a 2022 government review into the Future of Women’s Football in the UK, whose recommendations were backed by the government in 2023.

On screen she was part of ITV’s first all-female punditry at the men’s World Cup 2022, led ITV’s coverage of the men’s Euros in 2024 and contributed analysis to the women’s Euros in 2025; she co-hosts the podcast Long Story Short with Jill Scott, won Strictly Come Dancing in 2025 and will join ITV’s punditry for this summer’s Fifa men’s World Cup.

Her recent treats included a black Burberry backpack from Bicester Village and a corduroy cap by Yves Saint Laurent picked up at Rome airport after finishing Strictly. She is vegan and keeps Waitrose’s vegan filled pasta for late nights.
