How Darktide Skitarii Capacitance and Charges work

Capacitance is a percentage-based charge-up mechanic for the Skitarii’s main Abilities: Chordclaw Strike, Voltaic Emitter and Advanced Combat Doctrines. Unlike other Darktide classes whose Abilities use cooldowns, Skitarii Abilities must reach 100% Capacitance before they can be activated; in-game this is shown by the blue bar that fills the Ability icon.

It functions similarly to an "ultimate charge" in games like Overwatch, Apex Legends and Marvel Rivals. Skitarii generate 2% Capacitance per second, so it takes 50 seconds to reach 100% without other effects. Kills grant 2% and killing Elites or Specialists grants 4%.

Numerous talents add to these gains or create new ways to build Capacitance so you can increase generation and use your Ability more often. Hitting 100% Capacitance grants one Charge and resets Capacitance to zero; the number above the Ability icon shows how many Charges you hold.
