A new two-part comic event, Hellboy in Hell: Nothing But Blood, begins in October. It takes place after the eighth issue of the original Hellboy in Hell and follows Hellboy as he sets out to rescue a young woman during a demonic uprising. A news release says, "He steps in to save her, but nothing — and no one — are what they seem to be." Hellboy in Hell originally ended in 2016 after a four-year run and continued Hellboy’s story after he was brought to Hell in the Hellboy: The Fury arc.

Over Hellboy’s 57 issues, Mignola and various artists contributed, and Mignola drew all 10 Hellboy in Hell issues himself. French artist Cyrille Pomés will draw the two-issue event as his American comics debut. Mignola said, "Yes, I too thought Hellboy in Hell was a closed book — but a while back I discovered the work of Cyrille Pomés and instantly fell in love with it.

We actually met and when he said he’d like to do a Hellboy story, well, how could I say no to that?
