Hannah Waddingham said she has a "love-hate relationship" with her Ted Lasso co-star Jason Sudeikis, hinting at on-set tension while discussing "the nature of how Sudeikis works" in a Variety interview. "There’s always going to be a bit of give-and-take within a scene," she explained of the Emmy winner’s on-the-fly script rewrites.

"He hears it in the room, and then we tweak," Waddingham added. "With that boy, you’ve got to roll with the punches. He and I have an ongoing love-hate relationship that he changes it last minute." She also praised the cast’s closeness, saying it’s "odd" if they don’t chat weekly and name-dropping Brett Goldstein.

The actor is infamous for his "Ted Lasso" rewrites, with the show’s third season delayed for months due to his changes; Season 4, however, is set to come out on time in August. Waddingham called their characters "undoubtedly soulmates, but that can mean a myriad of things," and promised a "whole different deal" for Season 4, which follows Lasso coaching a women’s team for AFC Richmond.
