Halo: Campaign Evolved — everything we know
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a full remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, rebuilding the classic single-player campaign with updated visuals, refined controls and three new prologue missions. It launches on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, with five days of early access for Premium and Collector’s Edition pre-orders starting July 23, 2026.
The game will release on PC and Xbox Series X|S and, for the first time, on PS5. The remake is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and brings remastered soundtrack, sound design and voice performances while remaining faithful to the original art style. Unlike the 2011 anniversary remaster, you won’t be able to toggle seamlessly between old and new visuals.
New content includes Operation Meteorite, three missions starring the Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson set a year before the main story, plus modernised mechanics such as sprint and aim. Co-op has been expanded: the full campaign and Operation Meteorite support two-player splitscreen and four-player online co-op, with crossplay and shared progression.
