A trailer shown at the Future Games Show teases a single-player campaign for Halloween: The Game, putting players in the point of view of Michael Myers. The mode steps away from the online PvP focus and lets you stalk and kill without playing around others. Only brief gameplay clips appeared, but the footage shows exactly what you'd expect: lots of stabbing and menacing, slow-forward movement.

If IllFonic pulls it off, the campaign could tap into the same reverse-horror appeal as gorefests like Carrion and Manhunt, where the tension comes from playing with your prey. The campaign is set to cover Myers' "origin story," and it remains to be seen how long or narrative-heavy that coverage will be.

(I always thought his origin story was just that he was an evil baby who grew up to be an evil, scary man.) Dead by Daylight and IllFonic's previous Friday the 13th game lacked substantive single-player modes, so this solo campaign could offer something new for players who prefer playing the killer.
