Robby Hoffman said on Trixie Mattel's podcast that she stormed out of the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys after losing to her Hacks co-star Julianne Nicholson. She was there with her sister and called herself the biggest sore loser, noting the category was the first award of the night and she lost immediately.

Hoffman had been nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Randi but lost to Nicholson for Mary 'Dance Mom' Alice. She admitted she was 'beyond surprised' and had assumed she'd win despite facing 'insane' competition such as Olivia Colman and Zoë Kravitz; she recalled thinking, 'Where am I going to put the Emmy?' before her sister grabbed her arm and rushed her out.

Backstage, Mattel comforted Hoffman and let her stew while Hoffman calmed down with champagne. A contractual obligation forced her to return to the ceremony to present Outstanding Cinematography for a Series (Half-Hour) to 'The Studio,' and she said she refused to read anything she didn't mean.
