Gwyneth Paltrow has faced online attacks after appearing in an ad for luxury Israeli developer 51 Park in the coastal city of Herzliya. The commercial is only airing in Israel, but backlash has come from around the world. A friend said Paltrow is used to "taking crap" and that with Goop she has shown willingness to take criticism, but added she "did not expect the fallout from this ad at all." Notable critics have called for her cancellation.

Alana Hadid wrote on Instagram, "This is not even tone deaf it’s actually complicit af." Livia Firth said she canceled a planned trip by Paltrow to Quintosapore and called the move "completely unacceptable," adding that Paltrow’s work with Aviv Melisron made her "complicit" in the alleged "genocide" of the Palestinian people.

Paltrow, whose late father Bruce Paltrow was Jewish, has largely remained silent.
