Gunn's Superman Tops Prime Video Streaming Charts
James Gunn's Superman has become the most popular movie on Prime Video in the United States, topping the platform's chart per Flix Patrol and edging out newcomers Your Fault: London and Jack Ryan: Ghost War. The 130-minute film, which debuted July 11, 2025, served as the launch of the new DCU and a reset after the end of Zack Snyder's DCEU.
Starring David Corenswet alongside Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion and Isabela Merced, it was produced for around $250 million and went on to earn $618 million worldwide. Superman is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with an 83% critics rating and a 90% audience score, and it introduced Milly Alcock as Supergirl to the new universe.
The streaming success arrives as Supergirl prepares to open nationwide on June 26. Early box-office projections for director Craig Gillespie's film fell from $55 million to $40 million, even as early previews have praised the picture.
