Rockstar's long silence about Grand Theft Auto 6 appears to be ending. Earlier this week the developer revealed the game's cover art and said preorders will begin on June 25. With preorders imminent, many expect a new trailer soon — and hope it will show gameplay details rather than only atmosphere.

Fans have fixated on the toothy alligator at the center of the collage. Alligators are common in the swampy regions of central and southern Florida, the game's inspiration; they can weigh up to 500 pounds and reach 15 feet long. They're not vegetarians, though attacks on people are relatively rare, and Disney World removed more than 400 gators from the resort after one killed a toddler in 2016.

Some players have nicknamed the creature "Auto" and suggested it could play a role similar to Chop, the Rottweiler companion from GTA 5. "I’m convinced there’s at least one major mission involving an alligator in GTA VI, and possibly an entire side activity or encounter system built around Leonida’s wildlife," one X user wrote.
