GTA 5 still selling millions, analyst estimates 1.8 million on PS5 in 2026
GTA 5 continues to move millions of copies more than a decade after its release. Alinea's latest estimate puts PlayStation sales at 387,000 last month, bringing total PS5 sales to 1.8 million units for 2026. That figure aligns with Take-Two's financial reports, which regularly show roughly five million additional units sold each quarter.
When sales on PS4, PC and both generations of Xbox are included, the PS5 number fits into a much larger cumulative picture. Alinea's May ranking for PS5 places GTA 5 just outside the top four: 007 First Light at 1 million, Minecraft at 788,000, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight at 757,000 and EA Sports FC 26 at 411,000.
Unit sales are supplemented by ongoing GTA Online revenue; leaks have suggested microtransactions bring in about $8.4 million per week.
